About Us

Mitchell R. Aiken is an artist, writer, photographer, and digital creator exploring life on the road through storytelling, art, and documentary work. He is the creator of the YouTube channel Mitch and His Van, where he shares the journey of building a life of creativity and independence while traveling across North America.

The Van Life America Project was created to focus his creative work on the growing cultural phenomenon of full-time life on the road—people who live, work, and travel from vans, RVs, and even small automobiles. Through this project, Aiken seeks to document the places, landscapes, and communities that shape modern nomadic life.

The initial phase of Van Life America is a three-year exploration of life on the road. During this time, Aiken will travel across the United States and Canada documenting the van life movement through video, photography, and personal storytelling on his YouTube channel.

Along the way, he will continue creating artwork inspired by the journey and writing about the experience, publishing books that reflect the people, places, and ideas encountered along the road.

Van Life America is both a creative project and a cultural exploration—an effort to capture a moment in time as more people rediscover the freedom and challenges of life lived beyond a fixed address.
